Experience at AIIMS

AIIMS, New delhi is one of the best hospital in India. I happen to spend significant time there last week. I found that while it is difficult to get a bed (admission) from emergency ward, it is even more difficult to get out of it (get relieved).
While difficulty in admission is understood due to rush and limited beds, the procedure for relieving taking enormous time defeats the logic. The patient could come out of hospital after 20 hours from being told that you are to be relieved. The preparation of discharge summary and signatures took 19 hours. The patient is then asked to get photocopy of the discharge papers for keeping in the file (why it can't be done in AIIMS itself) and photocopying vender is not available at night in AIIMS campus.

Great Thoughts from my mobile

  1. Life is like a river. You can't touch the same water twice because the flow that has passed will never comes again. So enjoy every moment of Life.
  2. For Life is just an employer, it gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, you must bear the task.
  3. Persist, Persevere. Life is giving you the opportunities now so don't let one more moment escape your capacity to be & to get what you want.
  4. Life holds both sunshine & showers, the days aren't the same. Always look through the showers for rainbow and there you will find hope again.
  5. A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
  6. Believe in the rewards that await you, believe in the harvest in store. Believe in the future's promise, each new day gives new chance to you.

Indian Democracy

I feel the existing party system is the root cause of all ills in Indian Democracy. We are expected to choose individuals to represent the locality and not parties. The elected leaders are to group together on ideologies and choose their leaders. they should not be bound by parties, whips, etc. In fact the people should fight election not as party candidates but as peoples candidates.

Faster Computers

Super-fast quantum computers are now a step closer to becoming a reality, thanks to a breakthrough by scientists.

Edinburgh and Manchester University researchers have created a molecular device which could act as a building block for super-fast computers. They have created components that could be used to develop quantum computers, which can make intricate calculations faster than conventional machines. The academics used molecular scale technology instead of silicon chips.

They achieved the breakthrough by combining tiny magnets with molecular machines that can shuttle between two locations without the use of external force. The manoeuvrable magnets could one day be used as the basic component in quantum computers.

Conventional computers work by storing information in the form of bits, which can represent information in binary code - either as zero or one. Quantum computers will use quantum binary digits, or qubits, which are far more sophisticated as they are capable of representing not only zero and one, but a range of values simultaneously. Their complexity will enable quantum computers to perform more quickly than conventional machines.
